SBU deports special correspondents of Russian TV channels

The Ukrainian Security Service has deported special correspondents of Russian television Channel One and Rossiya, Valentina Solovyova and Olga Yuryeva.

"Security service operatives documented the fact that Russian propagandists were planning to use video materials prepared by Valentina Solovyova and Olga Yuryeva for discrediting Ukraine in the eyes of the international public and misinforming the population," the Ukrainian SBU said.

"Considering that Russian propaganda harms Ukraine's national security, sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional system, Solovyova was deported to Russia and Yuryeva to Kazakhstan on May 9, 2018; both were prohibited from visiting our country for the next three years," it said.

Restrictions were imposed on the activity of Russia's Channel One and Rossiya in Ukraine consistent with the Ukrainian president's order No. 133 dated May 15, 2017, the SBU said.
