Over 40% of Ukrainians support nation's integration with EU – survey
Ukraine's progress toward European Union accession is supported by 45% of Ukrainians, while only 9% support closer cooperation with so-called Customs Union led by Russia.
According to a poll conducted from April 5-19, 2018, by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), some 32% of respondents said Ukraine should neither orient itself towards the EU or Customs Union.
Some 40% of those polled support Ukraine's NATO aspirations, compared to 38% against.
According to the survey, 75% of respondents said Ukraine's top officials are leading the country in the wrong direction, compared to 10% who say the opposite.
Some 2,004 persons over the age of 18 living in 110 towns and cities across all regions of Ukraine, except for occupied territories, took part in the survey designed with a four-stage statistical margin of error. The statistical margin of error of the poll is between 1.14% and 3.3%, depending on the number of indicators.
