British Ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough considers it important to retain the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) in full, including the investigation of fraud in electronic declarations and cases of illegal enrichment.

"Concerned by draft law No. 7315. Important to preserve the integrity of e-declarations and ensure NABU remains empowered to exercise its lawful functions in full, including investigation of fraud in e-declarations and illicit enrichment cases," she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

On February 7, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Activity intends to consider Bill No. 7315 "On Amending Article 214 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (regarding the specifics of the initiation of pretrial investigation for certain categories of offenses), which would exclude the possibility of bringing officials to criminal liability for illegal enrichment.
