SPF expects PGO to help in returning shares of Ukrtelecom to state

Acting head of the State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine Vitaliy Trubarov has said that the SPF asked the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) to permit the quick sending of the money to the fund's account if the court issues a ruling in the Ukrtelecom shares case in favor of the fund.

He said that the hearing of the Ukrtelecom lawsuit by the appeal court is scheduled for February 20, 2018. The SPF expects that the final decision to return the operator's shares to the state would be made and the money will be sent to the fund's account.

"Along with this litigation, there is one more case related to the shares of Ukrtelecom being investigated by the Prosecutor General's Office. The PGO arrested these shares, which made any of their movements impossible. We already addressed the PGO with a request that if a positive court decision is made, and we expect that the appeal court would confirm the previous two rulings, to lift the arrest of these shares, which would allow them to be sent to our accounts in a short time," Trubarov wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, after sending the shares to the SPF, the fund plans to conduct a full inventory of this asset, since the shares must be confirmed by property.

"We will compare the property that was sold, with what is available today, and if there was an illegal alienation, all losses will be deducted and presented to the company being subject of property management," he said.
