Ukraine and Poland to reduce lists of persons banned from entry – Poroshenko

Ukraine and Poland have agreed on the mutual reduction of the numbers of people banned from entering the two countries in order to facilitate the work of a commission on historical issues, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

"We should, as the president said, find the historical truth, launch the exhumation process, give the green light, and initiate the process of the commission," Poroshenko said at a joint conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Kharkiv on Wednesday.

Both parties understand that only Russia benefits from historical conflicts between the counties, he said.

"We must find an absolutely clear way out of this situation; therefore, we decided to raise the level and reset the commission, we decided that the commission should meet as soon as possible to elaborate on and give the green light to the exhumation process. Thus, we agreed to shorten the list of persons banned from entering our countries," Poroshenko said.
