MP Rozenblat files case against NABU, SAPO, hearing scheduled for Jan 30

Kyiv Regional Administrative Court has opened a case based on the petition of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (non-aligned) Boryslav Rozenblat, who is suing the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).

The court said Rozenblat is asking the court to rule NABU's actions in its investigation against him as illegal, as well as SAPO's.

Rozenblat is also asking the court to oblige NABU detectives and SAPO agents to comply with existing laws guaranteeing him immunity from prosecution as a parliament deputy. The first hearing of the case is scheduled preliminarily for Jan 30, 2018.

Rozenblat is a suspect in the so-called 'amber case," which was opened pursuant to Part 4 of Article 368 (bribery) and Part 2 of Article 369-2 (misuse of public office) of Ukraine's Criminal Code.
