Case involving map depicting 'DPR, LPR' appearing at Lviv forum under investigation by SBU – Sadovy

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy has said five Ukrainian SBU Security Service agents are part of an investigator group looking into a map depicting the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics ('DPR/LPR') demonstrated at a forum held in Lviv last week. Sadovy made the remarks after being questioned by SBU agents.

"… There was a forum in Lviv on security from Wednesday through Friday that generated much interest … During one of the panel discussions moderated by Myroslava Gongadze, a graphic from the European center of international affairs was demonstrated … some people liked it, others did not. A criminal case was opened as a result. Today I spoke with the investigators – five SBU agents – who were tasked with investigating the incident," Sadovy said, according to his press secretary.

According to Sadovy, the case sets a precedent because it is based on a criminal investigation into "an illustration posted on a European website."

Lviv region's SBU office on December 1 opened a criminal investigation into the matter pursuant to Part 1 of Article 110 of Ukraine's Criminal Code (infringing on Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty).

Sadovy was questioned as a witness in the case.
