Investigators close to finding those who organize terrorist attacks
A number of high-profile terrorist attacks in Ukraine were organized by special centers created in the Donbas territories controlled by the so-called DPR and LPR, and investigators possess the data of persons who coordinate the activities of these centers, Ukraine's Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios has said.
"As for terrorist attacks against Colonel [Head of the Special Reserve of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Maksym] Shapoval, [SBU Colonel Oleksandr] Kharaberiush, and the murder of [journalist Pavlo] Sheremet, procedural leadership or investigation are carried out by investigators of the military prosecutor's office and SBU. We came very close to finding real people who organize terrorist attacks," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Matios noted that special centers coordinated by the staff of Russian special services were operating in the DPR/LPR-controlled territories in Donbas.
"Investigators possess the surnames and contact data of these people. The special centers have launched the mass organization of terrorist attacks, and the assistance in executing these attacks was provided by a significant number of citizens who live in our state in different regions," he said.
"Now we are working to detain these people," he added.
"We know much more than we can say... This person is included in the center of special operations under the auspices of the DPR's MSS... The center is coordinated and funded by the special services of the Russian Federation," Hrytsak added.
