Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that Ukrainian citizens live on the average form five to seven years less than the residents of the neighboring EU member states.

"I think that I won’t reveal the secret if I say that the state of modern health care is absolutely terrible, it doesn’t satisfy either those who work in the health care system or those who seek medical care. So, today we need to take a joint decision on the system change," he said at the interdepartmental strategic forum titled "Reform of medicine: funding, management, primary health care" in Kyiv on Thursday.

According to the premier, the health system must be brought into line with the needs of the country, and the health and life of citizens should be the main criterion.

"Unfortunately, Ukrainians live from five to seven years less than our nearest neighbors in the European Union," Groysman said.
