URCS takes part in first Mental Health Forum

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) took part in the first Mental Health Forum in Kyiv.

"The Ukrainian Red Cross Society has joined the country's major event in mental health and psychosocial support. The first Mental Health Forum was held in Kyiv. One of the speakers at the forum was Head of the department of rehabilitation and support of the Ukrainian Red Cross Hanna Didenko," the society said on Facebook on Monday.

Participants identified ways to develop mental health care in humanitarian settings. The forum has become a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, as well as joint learning.

The forum covered the subjects of raising awareness of mental health and responding to the needs of the population during emergencies.

"We, as the Ukrainian Red Cross, had the opportunity to act as one of the experts providing high-quality basic support to various people almost throughout Ukraine," the society said.

Organizers and participants of the forum included representatives of the World Health Organization from different countries, the coordination centre of the CMU, Mental Health UA, the All-Ukrainian mental health program "How are you?" initiated by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, government agencies, non-governmental institutions and organizations involved in the field of mental health and psychosocial support.
