Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker during a telephone conversation discussed the details of the visit of European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström to Ukraine on November 12-13.
The presidents discussed the efforts the Ukrainian government is taking in order to form institutional and legislative framework for fighting corruption, which is particularly important in the context of the progress in the matter of the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, as well as the fulfillment of Ukraine's obligations on the receipt of macro-financial assistance from the European Union, Poroshenko's press service reported on Tuesday.
In this regard, it was agreed to organize a visit of EU Commissioner for Migration, Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos and the European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström to Ukraine in the near future.
The two officials also commended the completion of the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU by the Czech Republic and the Republic of Cyprus.
