Russian diplomatic officers in Cyprus are trying to find out whether a Russian passenger aircraft en route from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg might have entered Cyprus's airspace before it reportedly crashed.

"We don't have reliable information on this account now. It has yet to be verified whether the plane was in Cyprus's airspace," a spokesperson for the Russian embassy to Nicosia told Interfax.
