Ukraine can prove Russian Buk missile system was at MH17 attack site – interior minister's advisor
Ukraine can produce two witnesses who can confirm that a Russian Buk surface-to-air missile system was present near the town of Snizhne, where Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was shot down, MP, Advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Minister, Anton Heraschenko, has said.
"Ukrainian patriots, who made these historical pictures, are now safe," Heraschenko said on the 'Shuster Live' TV program on Friday evening.
He said on the day flight MH17 was downed two citizens of Snizhne took photos from different points of the city: one of the missile itself, the second – the vapor trail from its launch.
Heraschenko said the two individuals were evacuated from the city and they subsequently provided originals of the pictures and their cameras to investigators. Dutch investigators in turn confirmed the authenticity of the pictures.
