Russian Investigative Committee opens new criminal cases against Ukrainian military commanders

The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against the Ukrainian military command and parliament deputy Oleh Liashko on the counts of application of prohibited means and methods of war, in particular, with regard to violations of the Minsk agreements.

"The Main Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, Ukrainian Defense Ministry General Staff Chief Viktor Muzhenko, Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Ground Forces Anatoliy Pushniakov, Ukrainian National Guard Commander Mykola Balan and other unidentified servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian National Guard," Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin has told Interfax.

He said they were suspected of "applying prohibited means and methods of war and genocide."
