OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovic has expressed his concern about the incident near the Ukrainian parliament in Kyiv on Monday in which several journalists were injured.

According to reports, journalists with the Ukrainian television stations 1+1, TV Channel Five, as well as reporters from other media outlets, were injured when protesters attacked law enforcement officers in front of the Verkhovna Rada.

"Even though this is not an incident targeting journalists specifically, I am concerned with the incident and I am calling on the authorities for a swift investigation into the case, as well as all previous cases of attacks against journalists," Mijatovic said.

She said that the authorities have already made a number of arrests related to today's incident.

Earlier, TV Channel Five journalist Oleksandr Arhat wrote on his Twitter page that an explosion outside the Rada building had wounded journalists working for Channel Five and TSN.
