Poroshenko calls for Normandy format to continue

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that talks aimed to resolve the situation in Donbas in the format of the Normandy Group nations (Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia) constitute a basic format and there is no need to create a new one.
"As for new (negotiating) formats I am convinced that we don't need new formats. We have the Minsk format, the Normandy format, I am sure we will be able to resolve all necessary issues within these formats," he told a press conference after his talks in Berlin with French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
