Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), during searches of the offices and places of residence of top managers of Parallel LLC fuel company, which operates the eponymous filling station chain, discovered fuel vouchers issued to terrorists of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), advisor to the SBU Chief, Yuriy Tandit, has said.

"On August 11 during searches as a part of criminal proceedings against financing of terrorism by officials of Parallel LLC in the offices of the company and at the places of residence of its top managers investigators seized used fuel vouchers to buy various types of fuel with stamps of various structures of so-called DPR," he said at a briefing in Kyiv last week, adding that vouchers for over 1,000 tonnes of fuel were found.

Tandit said that tankers and reservoirs of the company's filling stations in Donetsk and Luhansk regions were used to store and sell fuel received by militants from Russia under the guise of humanitarian aid.

The service sent a letter to the State Treasury asking it to suspend the budget financing of Parallel LLC worth UAH 36 million, Tandit said.

A total of 16 criminal proceedings were launched, 46 administrative protocols were issued, 10 criminals were detained, and UAH 9.6 million, 3 million Russian rubles, and $24,000 were seized.
