President signs law on increasing money for printing textbooks in schools by cutting expenses of MPs – Pavlenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on amending the state budget by increasing expenses on textbooks for schoolchildren at the cost of the expenses of MPs and the secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"In 2015, students of regular schools are provided with exercise textbooks for free. Education Ministry is to ensure the printing of corresponding textbooks. First of all, it concerns textbooks for students of fourth and seventh grades, as the most problematic situation is with them," Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Rostyslav Pavlenko said.

He said that an additional UAH 180 million will be allocated to school textbooks

Pavlenko also said that the Presidential Administration was expecting that while preparing the budget for 2016, the current situation will be taken into account so that all the necessary means for printing textbooks will be sufficiently included in the budget.
