Yatseniuk: New procedures for cargo processing in ports must be implemented in 45 days

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has ordered the relevant ministries to register all the necessary amendments in the Justice Ministry to simplify procedures for cargo processing in ports.

"The government passed four decrees and now it's necessary that the Agrarian Policy Ministry, Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry and Finance Ministry immediately change their internal bases and register amendments in the Justice Ministry to execute the government's decisions," Yatseniuk said during a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday.

According to him, in 45 days new procedures have to be fully implemented in Ukraine which have to be in line with EU standards for cargo processing in Ukrainian ports.

"I think that in 45 days we'll go to a port and see how cargo is processed," Yatseniuk said.

As reported, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Vaskov said that the length of time it takes to process cargo in maritime ports was to be cut by implementing a number of measures.

The decision was made to eliminate commission checks on ships, cancel chemical control of isolated dead loads, to bring such procedures in line with European standards, to simplify yacht processing procedures and to allow yachts to stay in Ukrainian ports regardless of their owners to develop tourism.

In addition, the development of shipments via marine passages by cancelling the financial guarantees of cargo delivery is planned, as well as minimization of control procedures, implementation of e-document flow during cargo processing, ensuring processing of containers before they are loaded on motor or railway transport, etc.
