Ukrainian border guards find combat helmets in Russian 'humanitarian convoy' – border service
Ukrainian border guards have found military-grade equipment in another Russian 'humanitarian convoy,' State Border Guard press secretary Oleh Slobodian has said.
"The peculiarity of this 'humanitarian convoy' is that cargo of non-humanitarian nature was found in one of the vehicles – combat helmets packed in bags," Slobodian said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
According to him, a column of 120 trucks arrived in Ukraine via the Donetsk and Matveyev Kurgan checkpoints early in the morning.
In addition, Slobodian noted that the International Committee of the Red Cross couldn't participate in processing cargo because of Russia's violation of international laws. Therefore, Ukrainian officials only managed to conduct a visual examination.
