UN to open office in Ukraine to support Minsk agreements - Poroshenko
The United Nations (UN) will open an office in Ukraine to support Minsk agreements regarding the settling of the situation in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"I want to emphasize that during the visit of UN Secretary General [to Ukraine] we agreed that the UN support office will be opened here and it will help effectively ensuring the implementation of Minsk agreements," Poroshenko said on Monday during a visit to the Ukrainian Ground Forces Training Center Desna in Chernihiv region.
The head of state said that he will discuss with global society the facts that militants violate Minsk agreements and they must be responsible for this.
Poroshenko said that he will raise the issue during the coming visits to Europe.
