A government draft law on the ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement has been submitted to the Italian parliament, Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Benedetto Della Vedova said during a meeting with Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, the press service of the Interior Ministry has reported.

On Wednesday, during his official visit to Italy, Avakov discussed the prospects of Italy ratifying the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement with Della Vedova.

"Della Vedova said that the required domestic procedures were completed in early March 2015. The governmental draft law on the ratification of the Agreement has been submitted to the parliament," the press service said.

While discussing the action plan on the Ukraine-EU visa-free regime, Avakov asked Della Vedova to take into account the progress achieved by Ukraine towards visa liberalization.

They also discussed events in the anti-terrorist operation zone in eastern Ukraine and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

"Avakov drew attention to the fact that Russian artillery and mortar shells are used to shell Ukrainian servicemen who are observing the ceasefire regime," the press service said.
