Kyiv reports truce violations in Luhansk region

All was quiet in the majority of hotbeds on the Kyiv-controlled territory of Luhansk region on Sunday and in the early hours of Monday, but a full ceasefire did not take place, head of the Luhansk region state administration Hennadiy Moskal said.

"Novotoshkivka in the Popasna district [near the 29th roadblock on the Bakhmutka road] came under a mortar attack at about 3 p.m. yesterday," the Luhansk region state administration press service quoted Moskal as saying on Monday.

Five mortar shells hit the town, near a cultural center, when humanitarian aid was being distributed, he said.

"Luckily, no one was hurt or died. People hid in a shelter as soon as the bombardments began but humanitarian aid remained undistributed yesterday. There were no attacks on populated areas this morning, but the sound of gunfire and the hostilities is audible from the side of Bakhmutka and the Debaltseve sector [where two populated localities belonging to the Luhansk region, Chornukhyne and Troitske, are situated]," Moskal reported.

There were no attacks on Triokhizbenka, Schastia, Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote, Nyzhne and Svitlychne during that period, Moskal said.

Earlier, Moskal reported the shelling of the center of Popasna right after midnight on February 15. He said that attack killed two civilians.
