53.7% of ATO participant applications for land parcels satisfied

10,557, or 53.7% of applications as of January 27 made by anti-terrorist operation (ATO) soldiers or the families of deceased servicemen who haven't exercised their right to the free privatization of land, on the drawing up of land projects on allocating land parcels to be used for construction, gardening and the maintenance of private agricultural households, have been approved.

The State Agency for Land Resources has said that permits for land parcels with a gross area of over 5,814 hectares were provided by the territorial departments of the agency and local authorities.

Over the last week 548 permits were issued and 29 land utilization projects on the provision of land parcels to soldiers were discussed, the agency said.

The agency said that as of January 27 the majority of permits were issued in Lviv region (1,516 permits), Vinnytsia region (1,084 permits), Chernihiv region (922) and Kyiv region (862).

According to the report, out of 10,557 permits a total of 5,171 permits were given for land parcels to be used for gardening, 2,904 – for maintaining private agricultural households, 2,472 – for construction and maintaining houses and 10 – for summer home construction.

The agency said that since the beginning of the initiative in June 2014, soldiers participating in the ATO, and the families of deceased servicemen, have submitted 19,672 applications.
