Ukrainian Ambassador urges EU to take measures to prevent terrorist attacks in Ukraine

Ukrainian Ambassador to the EU Kostiantyn Yeliseyev has addressed EU leaders informing them of the shelling of a bus near Volnovakha, Donetsk region, which killed 12 civilians, Ukraine’s mission to the EU has reported.

"The Volnovakha tragedy in Donetsk region is a spectacular example of civilians, mainly women, turning into terrorists' targets," the ambassador noted.

"Despite numerous EU calls and statements, terrorists supported by Russia have not stopped shelling Ukraine's territory. This policy of appeasement towards the aggressor leads to even more victims," Yeliseyev added.

He emphasized that the Volnovakha massacre must be seen as an act of terror, and urged the EU to participate in the investigation into the incident, together with OSCE mission experts, and to take the necessary measures to prevent a similar terrorist attack in the future.
