New ministers and their deputies should undergo anti-corruption and lustration checks - Yatseniuk

The newly appointed ministers and their deputies should undergo anti-corruption and lustration checks, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

"I want to remind you that the law on the cleansing of power was adopted in Ukraine. Therefore, ministers, as well as all candidates that you should nominate for the posts of deputy ministers, the heads of central executive bodies, state-owned companies, joint stock companies and other entities that are in the sphere of the government's competence, should undergo anti-corruption and lustration checks," he said, while opening a government meeting on Wednesday.

"Every minister has full authority in the ministry and full responsibility. You choose your deputies and heads on your own," he said.
