State budget sees shortage of UAH 3.7 bln of taxes from Luhansk and Donetsk regions - Yatseniuk

During a few months the national budget has seen a shortage of UAH 3.7 billion of taxes from Luhansk and Donetsk regions, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

According to the press service of the government, during a visit to Mykolaiv armored plant Yatseniuk also noted that the debt of Donetsk and Luhansk regions for electricity and gas is UAH 700 million.

"But at the same time the government pays pensions and wages, although it is too hard in the current conditions," he stressed.

"I wish these pensions and salaries were higher, but we pay what we have," Yatseniuk said.

The head of government said that there is information about small debts on separate local budgets.

"Economy in a state of war is related. If there are problems in Donetsk and Luhansk – the echo of these concerns is heard in Lviv, Kyiv, and Mykolaiv."
