Poroshenko signs decree to implement peace plan for eastern Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of June 16 this year, which supports the president's plan on the peaceful settlement of the situation in the eastern regions of the country, the press service of the head state has reported.

In accordance with Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Poroshenko ordered the enactment of the NSDC decision of June 16, 2014 on the Ukrainian president's plan on the peaceful settlement of the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine, as well as the implementation of the plan in the period from 2200 on June 20 until 2200 on June 27, 2014.

The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.

According to the presidential press service, following the discussion of the president's plan on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine's eastern regions, the NSDC decided to support the president's plan on the peaceful settlement of the situation in the country's eastern regions and propose implementing the plan from 2200 on June 20 until 2200 on June 27, 2014.
