Ukrainian infrastructure ministry confirms postponement of signing of Open Skies agreement with EU

The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine has confirmed the postponement of the signing of the Open Skies agreement with the EU.

"The signing of the Open Skies agreement between Ukraine and the European Union scheduled for June 5 has been postponed by the EU. The reason is that the positions of Spain and Britain on the article on the territory over Gibraltar are not agreed," reads a press release of the ministry published on Thursday.

The ministry added that Ukraine is completely ready to sign the agreement.

The negotiations on the new date for the signing of the agreement are being held.

As reported, earlier a well-informed source in the European Commission told Interfax-Ukraine that the signing of the agreement was postponed and it is expected that the agreement could be signed jointly with the economic part of the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27, 2014.
