Ukraine's parliamentary delegation to make official visit to Canada on November 24-27

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak will head a delegation of the Ukrainian parliament that is to make an official visit to Canada on November 24-27, reads a posting on the Web site of the Ukrainian parliament.

During the visit, Rybak will meet with Governor General of Canada David Johnston. He will also hold meetings with a number of Canadian parliamentarians - Speaker of the House of Commons Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the Senate of Canada Noel Kinsella, and Leader of the oppositional New Democratic Party Thomas Mulcair.

The chairman of the Ukrainian parliament will also attend a sitting of the House of Commons.

Rybak will also meet with Mayor of Ottawa Jim Watson, Canada's Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Chris Alexander and Minister of Employment, Social Development and Multiculturalism Jason Kenney.

The chairman of the Ukrainian parliament will talk to President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) Paul Grod, UCC Executive Director Taras Zalusky, and other leaders of the congress. He will also attend a ceremony to commemorate victims of the Holodomor famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian parliamentary delegation will also lay flowers at the Monument to Taras Shevchenko and the monument to commemorate Canadians killed in military operations.
