Egypt hopes that the efforts made to ensure security in its resort regions will revive the interest of Ukrainians in vacationing in Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh and other tourist centers of the country, representative of the Egypt tourism authority Nasser Hamdy has said at a press conference.

"We have taken every security precaution with respect to the Sinai and the Red Sea. We hope to regain the level of tourist [flows] we had earlier. The tourist market of Ukraine is one of the top ten markets for us," he said.

According to Hamdy, in general Egypt expects that in 2013 some 12 million tourists from various countries will visit Egypt. The largest flow of tourists to Egypt was in 2010, when the country accepted 14.8 million foreign tourists. After the revolution of 2011, the number of tourists dropped to 9 million people.
