Trilateral consultations with the European partners will be held following the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental consultations prior to Kyiv signing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.

"First, it is necessary to hold bilateral consultations. And judging by the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he supports such consultations and such consultations will be held soon. When we develop a single point of view, some disputable questions related to the implementation of our agreements with the European Union will remain and then we will be able to invite our European partners and to ask these questions at a trilateral meeting," Azarov said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel.

Azarov has said that he positively assessed Putin's proposal to hold intergovernmental consultations prior to Ukraine signing the Association Agreement.

The Ukrainian-Russia intergovernmental consultations at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers Yuriy Boiko and Igor Shuvalov were held on October 8 as agreed to by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The purpose of these consultations was to assess objectively the consequences of trade agreements with Russia and the Customs Union after the EU-Ukrainian Association Agreement is signed.
