Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Wednesday in order to discuss the prospects for signing the Association Agreement with the European Union during the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit, according to the presidential press service.

"Today the key issue [raised during the meeting] was, of course, the government's consideration of the draft Association Agreement with the European Union, which we are planning to sign in Vilnius. The president wanted to know about possible risks and the government's plans aimed at eliminating such risks. We discussed the issue in detail," Azarov said following the meeting with the president.

They also discussed Ukraine's cooperation with the Customs Union and Russia.

"[We discussed] our relations with the Customs Union and Russia, the steps we are taking currently, and our plans for the settlement of the issues we are facing today," the premier said.

The president and the premier also talked about the country's industrial complex and economy and results of their work over eight months in 2013. They also tackled the government's future steps to support economic stability and create conditions for further development of Ukraine's economy.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on Wednesday approved the draft Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union and its member states.
