According to the document, the Ukrainian Justice Ministry is a central authority in Ukraine fulfilling the functions envisaged by the articles of the convention.

The convention establishes that contracting states make available in internal law effective measures to enforce decisions on the recovery of child support and other forms of family maintenance.

According to the convention, such measures may include wage withholding, deductions from bank accounts and other sources, deductions from social security payments, lien on or the forced sale of property, tax refund withholding, withholding or attachment of pension benefits, credit bureau reporting, denial, suspension or revocation of various licenses (for example, driving licenses), and the use of mediation, conciliation or similar processes to bring about voluntary compliance.

In addition, the convention says that the central authorities cooperate with each other and promote cooperation amongst the competent authorities in their states to achieve the purposes of the Convention.
