The issue of putting controlling stakes in regional energy supply companies Kharkivoblenergo, Zaporizhiaoblenergo, Khmelnytskyoblenergo, Ternopiloblenergo and Mykolaivoblenergo up for sale will be considered at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2013, an informed source has told Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that it was planned to make decision on the issue at a meeting on December 26, however, the decision was not made.

The source failed to name the reasons for the postponing of the matter consideration, but admitted that it could be connected with the change of the Energy and Coal Industry Minister, as the newly appointed minister Eduard Stavytsky needs time to get the hang of things.

The interlocutor of the agency said that the State Property Fund has received only one controlling stake of 75% in Volynoblenergo for sale.

He also noted that the issue of privatizing blocking stakes in regional power companies sold over the year, which remained in the ownership of Energy Company of Ukraine, would be raised in 2013, as according to the new privatization program the keeping of such stakes in state ownership is ineffective.
