The newly elected membership of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, should consider the draft national budget for 2013, say opposition political forces.

"We think that the parliament of the next convocation should consider the budget," Mykola Martynenko, the head of the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense parliamentary faction, has said at a meeting of the parliament's conciliatory council on Monday.

Martynenko also proposed to consider on Tuesday the amendments to the regulations of the Verkhovna Rada regarding individual voting that were submitted by the opposition.

Earlier, at the meeting of the conciliatory council Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn said that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is to submit a draft national budget for 2013 to the Verkhovna Rada on Monday.

Lytvyn also proposed that the Verkhovna Rada consider the government's proposals on the 2013 national budget on December 4, and instructed the profile committee to develop a relevant bill by Wednesday, so as to vote on the draft budget on Thursday.
