Russia's view on Syria will not change - Lavrov
Moscow is not going to make any adjustments to its approach toward the Syrian crisis, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We have our own position. We are not hiding it. We are not ashamed of it. And we have no plans to change it," he said at a press conference after talks with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Tuesday.
Russia wants an even larger number of UN observers to be deployed in Syria, he said.
"Part of our position is that UN observers must return to Syria and that their number must be increased so they can see who is abiding by the ceasefire agreement and how," Lavrov said.
