The Ukrainian government has proposed simplifying the procedure for allowing subunits of armed forces of other countries into Ukraine to conduct joint exercises, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has reported.

The respective amendments to legislation were approved at a government meeting on Wednesday.

"It is proposed to amend Article 8 of a respective law, namely to add a fourth part envisaging the possibility of submitting a proposal regarding the admission to Ukraine of units of armed forces of other countries to participate in multinational exercises along with a draft plan for the exercises," reads the statement.

According to the statement, the introduction of such amendments will help significantly reduce the time of preparation of the respective legal and regulatory framework and the endorsement of the decision on the admission of foreign units, which, in turn, will make it possible to plan and conduct multinational exercises, starting from the first quarter of each year.
