OSCE observer: candidates did not have equal opportunities in Ukraine election campaigns

1 min read

An observer from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe has credited Ukraine with serious activity in carrying out its current parliamentary election process, but complained that candidates did not enjoy equal campaigning opportunities in the run-up to Sunday's polls.

The observer, Pawel Kowal, who is a member of the European Parliament, argued at a news conference in Kyiv on Monday that there are no sufficient legal guarantees for putting Ukraine's new election law into practice, although he mentioned, the law had been passed by a consensual vote.
