URCS volunteers helping victims of Russian missile attack on Zaporizhia
Volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) participate in rescue operations at the site of a medical facility destroyed by a missile attack by the army of the Russian Federation in the center of Zaporizhia.
“The team of Zaporizhia regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross and Zaporizhia regional rapid response unit promptly arrived at the scene of the aftermath of the attack and are providing the necessary assistance to the victims,” the URCS wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
The search and rescue operation continues.
“We are aware of two casualties. Our doctors did an incredible job and managed to resuscitate one person. Currently, 16 people have been taken to the hospital: nine women, seven men. According to preliminary data, those taken to the hospital are in extremely serious condition,” Fedorov said on the air of the national telethon.
According to him, there are at least eight people under the rubble of the destroyed building. As previously reported, Fedorov spoke about three killed.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, as a result of the missile attack, the building of a private clinic and a nearby cafe were destroyed. The blast wave and debris damaged multi-storey residential buildings, cars of local residents.
