Stefanishyna does not see significant changes in US stance on inviting Ukraine to NATO
Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna does not see significant changes in the U.S. stance on inviting Ukraine to NATO.
"These were very lengthy deliberations that lasted almost 20 years. I do not see that anything has changed much at this stage, and before the elections [in the United States] and now. I can confirm that the American administration generally supported this decision, but we were clearly guided by the fact that Ukraine should be invited to NATO. Namely, expressing the U.S. position both to strengthen us politically and for a real solution would not have had any effect," Stefanishyna told journalists on Monday in Kyiv, commenting on the Bloomberg publication that the United States has changed its mind about inviting Ukraine to NATO.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the administration of U.S. President Joseph Biden had changed its mind about inviting Ukraine to join the North Atlantic Alliance NATO, despite the fact that it was considering the possibility of a public call for an official invitation.
