Zelenskyy denies Western media reports that Ukraine allegedly tried to seize NPP during Kursk operation
Ukrainian forces have taken control of part of Kursk region (RF), but did not try to seize any factories or a nuclear power plant, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Yes, we had success. Yes, we took control of this territory [Kursk region] ... But you see, in the Western media they said that we were trying to seize some factories, some energy systems, some nuclear power station. No, we didn't even try," he said in an interview for the Northern European media.
The President emphasized: Ukraine does not seize critical infrastructure, as the Russian Federation does.
"Russia thinks that they are very strong. But if we wanted to occupy their nuclear power plant, we could do it. But we never wanted this, because we understand that this means that we will be the same as Russia. We do not occupy their critical infrastructure, as they did with the Zaporizhia NPP," Zelenskyy emphasized.
