Coordination HQ, Ukrainian World Congress sign memo of cooperation
The Coordination Headquarters (HQ) for Prisoner of War Affairs and the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to support Ukrainian prisoners of war and their families, the Headquarters reported.
"Chairman of the Coordination Headquarters Kyrylo Budanov and President of the Ukrainian World Congress Paul Grod signed the Memorandum of Cooperation," the Headquarters announced on Telegram on Saturday.
The Headquarters and the UWC will work together to support POWs and their families, with the Memorandum outlining partnership terms for protecting the rights of Ukrainian defenders held in captivity, as well as their families.
The document also pledges support for other Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression.
This cooperation will focus on humanitarian aid, social and legal protection, volunteer efforts, medical and psychological assistance, and physical rehabilitation; additionally, it will emphasize national identity, cultural education, international advocacy, and diplomatic influence on security challenges.
Budanov thanked the Ukrainian diaspora for its efforts in supporting Ukraine's defense against Russia.
"Support from compassionate Ukrainians around the world is crucial. Only through joint efforts can we achieve our goal of freeing all our citizens from Russian captivity," said Budanov.
The Ukrainian World Congress serves as an international coordination platform for Ukrainian communities abroad, representing the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians. The UWC network spans more than 80 countries globally.
