Ukrainian Red Cross representatives injured as Russia shells Kramatorsk
Three representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross were injured as a result of Russia's attack on Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, on Wednesday.
"Today, at around 16:00, Russia again shelled Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, as a result of which three representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross were injured," the organization said on Facebook on Wednesday evening.
There was an explosion near one of the apartment buildings in the city where the team of the Ukrainian Red Cross came with a humanitarian mission. As a result of the attack, a volunteer of the Ukrainian Red Cross sustained a leg injury and was immediately delivered to a health facility where a surgery is planned. The head and a driver of the Kramatorsk City Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross also suffered bodily injuries.
"Despite the war-related threats, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues to render assistance to the civilian population! We are supporting out injured colleagues and their families, and we strongly condemn attacks on humanitarian organizations and violation of the regulations and principles of the international humanitarian law," it said.
As reported, Russia attacked Kramatorsk with guided aerial bombs on Wednesday. As of 18:30, two dead and 19 injured, including three children, were reported.
