Zelenskyy: All points of Ukraine's victory plan depend on Biden's decision, not Putin
Ukraine's victory plan is strategic and all of its points depend on U.S. President Joseph Biden's decision, and not on Vladimir Putin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Friday.
"I am not sure that a can share all the details with you… But, sure, it is a strategic plan… Therefore, I will tell President Biden about this plan… [It] will strengthen Ukraine, our soldiers and citizens. These are very important things. It [the plan] has not many points… And all these points depend on Biden's decision. And not on Putin," he said at the 20th meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES).
The victory plan can help, although it cannot give a 100% guarantee that it can change Putin, the head of state said.
"But it can make Ukraine stronger, much stronger. I think it could force Putin to think how he could end the war," he said.
Zelenskyy recalled that he also plans to present the plan to both U.S. presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, as well as the Congress.
Answering whether he planned to meet with Trump in New York, he said it does not matter which way he could talk to Trump.
"I have phone communication, but I think there are things that we cannot discuss in detail over phone," the head of state said.
He also noted that after consultations with the U.S. he would probably share the victory plan with the nation.
