USA imposes sanctions against five individuals, seven legal entities of PRC, Iran – Markarova
Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova has said that the United States imposed sanctions against five individuals and seven legal entities of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and Iran for Iran's proliferation of ballistic missiles and UAVs, which creates a risk of instability and endangers the lives of civilians in the world.
"The United States has imposed full blocking sanctions against five individuals and seven legal entities (China and Iran) that assisted in the implementation of purchases abroad in the interests of the Iranian Ministry of Defense," Markarova wrote on Facebook on Tuesday evening.
Markarova notes that, according to the U.S. Treasury Department, this is the reason that the America sanctioned two citizens of Iran and one Iranian procurement company, earlier sanctioned Beijing Shiny Nights Technology Development Co., Ltd.
Also, six entities in the procurement network of the previously sanctioned Iranian company Electro Optic Sairan Industries Co came under sanctions.
In addition, the company Azmoon Pajohan Hesgar Limited Liability Company (Iran), specializing in the production of testing equipment, and its director, as well as the technology company Shenzhen Rion Technology Co., Ltd (PRC), were also subject to sanctions.
"Sanctioned entities purchased foreign technology components such as accelerometers and gyroscopes that were used in Iran's ballistic missile and drone development and production programs," Ukraine's ambassador to the United States wrote.
"Iran's reckless proliferation of ballistic missiles and UAVs risks further instability and endangers civilian lives in the region and around the world," said Brian Nelson, Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
