Russia will likely continue to make tactical advances in Donetsk region, but its overall operational capability remains limited – British intelligence
In July, Russian ground forces advanced westward, approaching Pokrovsk, and to the north of Donetsk region, to the city of New York, British intelligence reports.
“In July 2024, Russian Ground Forces (RGF) maintained continuous attacks in central Donetsk region. The RGF made steady advances westwards, taking control of several villages and moving closer to the logistics hub of Pokrovsk,” the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland said on X on Tuesday.
In addition, the occupiers have also advanced to the north of Donetsk region, and fighting is most likely underway in New York between the RGF and the Ukrainian armed forces.
British intelligence believes that in the coming weeks, the Russian Federation will continue tactical successes in the area, but the overall operational capabilities of the occupiers are still limited by a number of factors, including a high level of casualties, limited training and a shortage of officers.
