Syrsky: Ukrainian army needs to take advantage of use of combat, fpv drones in destroying enemy UAVs
To stop the advance of the numerically superior Russian invaders, Ukrainian troops need effective fire defeat of the enemy's main forces and their reserves on distant approaches, as well as taking advantage of the use of combat drones and fpv drones in destroying enemy UAVs, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky says.
"What can and should we do in order to stop the advance of a numerically superior enemy? There is only one answer: effective fire defeat of the enemy's main forces and reserves on distant approaches, comprehensive defeat of the enemy at the front line, a stable hold of prepared lines and positions, the most effective use of all capabilities of weapons and ammunition, primarily combat drones, in which we have preference. As well as mastering new methods of destroying enemy reconnaissance UAVs in conditions of a total shortage of short-range anti-aircraft missiles, only using electronic warfare and fpv drones," he wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, "this requires mastery in the use of weapons and equipment, accurate fire, maneuver of fire, forces and means - that is, high-quality training of all categories of military personnel to perform combat missions."
Syrsky emphasized that the preparation of headquarters at all levels is important in order to maximize the use of combat capabilities of troops and minimize Ukrainian losses. "Therefore, this time I also checked the progress of the reserves' preparation. I note the training is as close as possible to a real combat situation, the use of drop drones and fpv drones to simulate enemy actions, which allows us to train our soldiers to practically destroy this dangerous type of weapon," the commander-in-chief said.
"We should use our advantage in the use of combat drones and fpv drones to destroy enemy UAVs," Syrsky emphasized.
He also said that he met with the commanders of the brigades leading the defense in the directions of the enemy's main assaults and discussed issues of increasing the effectiveness of operations, replenishing losses, providing ammunition, and solving other problematic issues.
According to Syrsky, the enemy ignores the fairly high level of losses and continues to rush in the direction of Pokrovsk. Fierce fighting continues in Krasnohorivka, in the areas of Prohres, Zalizne, Pivnichne, and Chasiv Yar.
According to him, the occupiers are not giving up attempts to capture Stelmakhivka, Makiyivka, they are attacking Ukrainian positions in Ivanivske, Klischiyivka, and trying to capture the floodplain islands of the left bank of the Dnipro River. In fact, active combat operations of varying intensity are taking place along the entire front.
