The municipal enterprise Kyivteploenergo has repaired 670 home heat meters since the beginning of 2024 and plans to repair another 630 units by the end of the year.

“By the end of the year, Kyivteploenergo will repair 1,300 household heat meters that are located in its service area and the service area of Euro-Reconstruction LLC,” the company reported on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.

“In the capital, 90% of residential buildings are equipped with heat meters, which, in fact, are the starting element for further energy efficiency measures. After all, the meter records how much thermal energy is used to heat the house, and residents pay only for what is actually consumed. Further, to reduce these expenses, you can install an individual heating point, insulate the walls, roof, replace windows and doors,” explained Deputy Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleyev.

According to him, depending on the type and complexity of damage to metering devices, their repair is carried out either by Kyivteploenergo specialists or directly by equipment manufacturers.

In addition, this year, the company will carry out metrological verification of 3,400 house meters. Experts have already checked the correct operation of more than 1,000 devices.

As the company explained, financing of device maintenance work is carried out through a subscription fee, which is the only source of covering the costs of repairs and verification provided for by current legislation.

"Kyivteploenergo has been implementing a program for repairing household metering devices for the fifth year in a row. During this time, more than 4,000 were repaired and more than 9,300 metering devices were verified.
