Forty cars with grain waiting for reloading at Medyka-Shehyni rail station where protesters scattered grain – Ukrzaliznytsia
Protesting Polish farmers near the Medyka-Shehyni border crossing point (BCP) opened the hatch of two Ukrainian freight cars with grain sent to Germany in transit through Poland.
Forty Ukrainian freight cars with agricultural products are at the station awaiting reloading.
"Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes the inadmissibility of interference by Polish protesters in the work of the railway," Ukrzaliznytsia said.
Ukrzaliznytsia informed the Polish Railways and the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland about the unauthorized interference in the work of the railway.
Ukrzaliznytsia said that it "strictly adheres to the ban on the import of grain cargo into the Republic of Poland introduced in April 2023 and only transports these cargoes in transit through the territory of the neighboring country. All wagons at the border are checked by the Polish regulatory authorities and are sealed. This makes it impossible for Ukrainian goods to enter grain to the Polish market."
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia is outraged by the actions of Polish protesters and calls on them to stop the protests, since "this does not contribute to solving possible problems, but plays into the hands of the aggressor country."
As reported, Polish protesting farmers near the Medyka-Shehyni BCP on Tuesday opened a cargo container with grain, which spilled onto the rails.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov, commenting on this incident, called it "another political provocation aimed at dividing peoples."
Polish protesters have already blocked passenger train No. 119 Kyiv-Chełm, and have also attempted to block two freight trains.
